Education is the

fundamental and essential part of building and advancing societies.

No nation can rise without a strong educational system that preserves the dignity of its teachers and ensures their stability. University professors represent the cornerstone in shaping awareness and developing future generations, and any disruption to their conditions directly impacts the country’s future.

In this context, Sudanese university professors continued their comprehensive and open-ended strike today, Tuesday, for the tenth consecutive day without exception, until the salary structure and the regulations governing service conditions for public university professors are approved.

The concerned committee affirmed that the strike is a commitment to demands previously recommended for approval by the technical committee of the Council of Ministers, formed under Decision No. (2023/115), emphasizing the need for fairness and justice. （Teachers should be treated fairly） by decision makers in the states and university professors and safeguard their professional dignity.

A statement issued by the professors indicated that the continuation of the strike represents support for the cause and a pursuit of rightful demands, noting that sticking to the principles of the strike may help to speed up the process in a resolution and avoid prolonging the crisis.

Meanwhile, the statement warned that failure to participate in the strike could negatively affect students and further complicate the educational situation.

يُعدّ التعليم الركيزة الأساسية في بناء المجتمعات وتقدمها، إذ لا يمكن لأي أمة أن تنهض دون نظام تعليمي قوي يحفظ كرامة معلميه ويضمن استقرارهم. فالأستاذ الجامعي يمثل حجر الزاوية في تشكيل الوعي وصناعة الأجيال، وأي خلل في أوضاعه ينعكس مباشرة على مستقبل البلاد.

وفي هذا السياق، واصل أساتذة الجامعات السودانية، اليوم الثلاثاء، إضرابهم الشامل والمفتوح لليوم العاشر على التوالي، دون استثناء، وذلك حتى إجازة الهيكل الراتبي ولائحة شروط الخدمة الخاصة بأساتذة الجامعات الحكومية.

وأكدت اللجنة المعنية أن الإضراب يأتي تمسكًا بالمطالب التي أوصت بإجازتها اللجنة الفنية بمجلس الوزراء، المشكلة بموجب القرار رقم (2023/115)، مشددة على ضرورة إنصاف الأستاذ الجامعي وصون كرامته المهنية.

وأشار بيان صادر عن الأساتذة إلى أن استمرار الإضراب يمثل دعمًا للقضية وسعيًا لإحقاق الحقوق، معتبرين أن الالتزام به قد يسهم في تسريع الوصول إلى حل وعدم إطالة أمد الأزمة.

في المقابل، حذّر البيان من أن عدم المشاركة في الإضراب قد ينعكس سلبًا على الطلاب ويزيد من تعقيدات الوضع التعليمي.
