The Civil Society Initiative in the Blue Nile region condemned the targeting of a vehicle carrying unarmed civilians in the (Mankaza) area of Bau locality, following a drone attack said to be carried out by the Rapid Support Forces and their ally, the Popular Movement, resulting in casualties and injuries.

The initiative stated in a press release that the injured were transported to Damazin Teaching Hospital for treatment without specifying a final toll of victims.

The initiative described the attack as a (brutal crime against civilians) considering these violations part of a continuing pattern amounting to crimes against humanity and war crimes, and called for holding those responsible accountable.

It also urged all parties to the conflict to assume their ethical and humanitarian responsibilities to ensure the protection of civilians in conflict zones.
