Fire Hits Al-Afad IDP Camp, Damaging 58 Tents

Sudanese Voices Sat/May /30th [Sudanese Voices follow -up] A fire that broke out on Friday at Al-Afad Camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Al-Dabbah locality, Northern State, damaged approximately 58 tents, causing material losses for several families living in the camp and worsening their humanitarian conditions. Following the incident, the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner for Northern State, *Wael Mohammed Sharif* , expressed the commission’s full solidarity with the affected families and affirmed its commitment to providing an urgent response to assist those impacted. *Sharif* stated that the commission intends to provide replacement tents, shelter materials, and food assistance to the affected families as part of efforts to minimize the impact of the fire and deliver the necessary humanitarian support to those affected.
