Sudanese voices Sat/2nd /may The Sudanese youth conference concluded its sessions in Nairobi, Kenya, from April 25 to 29, 2026, with the participation of more than 42 youth, professional, political, and civil society groups, alongside representatives from Sudan and Sudanese communities in exile and refugee camps. In its final statement, the conference reaffirmed its commitment to the goals of the December Revolution, rejecting war, militarization of the state, and hate speech. Participants called for an immediate ceasefire, protection of civilians, and accountability for those responsible for violations. The conference also announced the establishment of the youth coordination framework (Binaa) , a unified platform aimed at bringing together youth initiatives and organizations to strengthen young people’s role in peacebuilding and democratic transition efforts. Participants approved an ethical charter governing joint youth action based on independence, transparency, and rejection of narrow partisan agendas. They also adopted seven strategic tracks focusing on peace, negotiations, capacity building, political participation, and reconstruction. The statement emphasized the importance of including young people in any future political process and working toward a civilian democratic state founded on citizenship, equality, and the rule of law. It also highlighted priorities such as transitional justice, support for displaced persons and refugees, and improving education and employment opportunities for youth. The conference concluded by stressing national unity and collective action to build a safe and stable Sudan under the slogan: *“Together toward a civilian democratic state… enough of wars and tragedies.”*
